The Scandinavian Association of Thoracic Surgery (SATS) is a Nordic association of cardiothoracic surgeons from the Scandinavian countries, including Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, and Iceland. Since 1989, our purpose has been to work for advancement of cardiothoracic surgery in whole Scandinavia as well as to promote research and education in the field of cardiothoracic surgery.
An annual meeting, the SATS meeting, has been organized since 1952.
Our members are cardiac and thoracic surgeons from each of the national societies; the Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, and Finnish Association of Cardiothoracic Surgery, as well as other professionals with an interest in our purpose.
