This years SATS meeting will be the 11th Joint Scandinavian Conference in Cardiothoracic Surgery. The meeting will mark the 30-year anniversary of the Scandinavian Association of Thoracic Surgery.

The 9th Annual Meeting of the Scandinavian Association for Thoracic Surgery (SATS) will be held in Helsinki, Finland, next August 16 – 18, 2017  (Wednesday to Friday). The Finnish Organizing Committee, led by Professor Tatu Juvonen, have already put a lot of effort into preparing a very interesting program, both with invited lectures by internationally recognized speakers and abstract presentations.

At the SATS 2016 meeting in Reykjavik, Dr Hanna Jensen MD, PhD recieved the 2016 Ingegerd and Viking Olof Björk scholarship. The Ingegerd and Viking Olof Björk scholarship amounts to 30.000 Euros and is awarded to a young an outstanding colleague to honour the memory of the renowed Swedish heart surgeon, Viking Olof Björk.
